The responses have been collected from the recent all Island
ply-for-hire taxi service consultation, it would appear the Manx public are
very much in favour of the idea.
The Department received around 100 written responses, of
which 45 were in favour and 31 were against.
An on-line survey showed 89% of people approved of the idea.
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says he understands the taxi drivers concerns, but ultimately his Department need to serve the interests of the wider public:
