Department Of Education and Children Announce
Due to the adverse weather seen across the Isle of Man and forecast for overnight, the Department of Education and Children have reluctantly made the decision to close all schools tomorrow.
The decsion was taken at 6.15pm tonight after senior officers took advice from the Met Office and Bus Vannin about current conditions and the likely conditions first thing tomorrow morning.
The safety of pupils and staff walking to and from schools, together with concerns over whether there will be a full school bus service, led to the decision being taken by Hon Eddie Teare MHK, Minister for Education and Children.
Conditions will be reviewed at lunchime on Monday and a further announcement will be made.
King William's College and The Buchan made the call to close the school at around 17:00Hrs.
The Isle of Man College announced that they will also close on Monday.
Meanwhile, Ronaldsway Airport has been shut since 14:30Hrs on Sunday.
