The Department of Infrastructure says it's banning cyclists from using the Mountain Road during the Festival of Motorcycling later this month.
Unlike in TT, the road remains two-way for the fortnight-long festival which gets underway on Saturday, August 19.
During this year's TT festival, police spoke to cyclists who were planning to tackle the route in an organised ride on the Friday of practice week.
