Fireworks Go On Sale Tomorrow
A spectacular Fireworks display is being organised for November 6th as usual on Douglas Beach.
The display is turning into one of the community highlights of the year, with thousands anticipated to be congregating along the promenade to spectate.
In light of the tough economic conditions the Douglas Council sought extra support from the public sector, to ensure the Bonfire night celebrations could still go ahead on the same scale the public has become accustomed too.
Between the 29th and 7th November members of the public are able to hold a fireworks display without first seeking permission from the Department of Home Affairs.
Police and retailers will be working together to ensure that fireworks are not sold to under-agers, with hefty fines for those who misuse them, and also to those who sell to under 18s.
The bonfire for the display will be lit between the War memorial, and the Broadway slip road, with the fireworks starting at 6.15pm.
