Douglas Fire Station mobilised to Victoria Pier at around 7pm last night to assist the Ambulance Service in removing a male casualty from a vessel.
It is understood that the vessel had recently arrived from Liverpool – firefighters struggled to transfer the casualty to dry land due to the low tide.
Crews used a basket stretcher and basic line rescue techniques to lift the casualty from the moving vessel up to the pier steps.
The casualty was then transferred to Nobles Hospital via ambulance - the condition of the man is not known at this time.
