A former clerk of Port Erin Commissioners says he’s honored to be awarded a BEM.
Michael Kewley has been selected for a British Empire Medal as part of the Queen’s New Year Honours.
It’s for his services to local government and the community after a 40 year plus career serving Port Erin.
The award will be presented to him by the Island’s Lieutenant Governor later this year.
Michael says he’s amazed but says his career has been rewarding:
