The constabulary is urging the public to appreciate the severity of imminent floods.
It asks that people take heed of warnings highlighting road closures and identified vulnerable areas.
Flooding has already begun, though high tide isn't due until 12.30pm.
Motorists have been advised to ensure their vehicles are not parked by sea fronts or alongside harbours due to a strong risk of irreparable damage.
Parents are asked to ensure their children aren't taking the opportunity to play in and around storm surge areas.
