A man who turned violent with bouncers outside a Douglas club has been sentenced, almost two and a half years after he first appeared in court.
Hristo Georgiev Stuyenov appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing Stuyenov had admitted disorderly behaviour on licensed premises following the incident in March 2018.
However, the Bulgarian hadn’t turned up for his sentencing a month later and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
His advocate told the court his client had difficulty understanding English and so hadn’t realised he had to return to court.
Mrs Hughes said the responsibility for making sure he appeared for sentencing was Stuyenov’s.
She ordered him to do 120 hours of community service, pay £125 costs and forfeit his £500 bail recognisance.
