Could a new procedure for recognising the importance of ePetitions be introduced in the Isle of Man?
That’s what Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas will call for today, as a petition opposing the new so-called ‘toilet tax’ is presented to Tynwald.
Over 6,000 people have signed the online document, calling for government to reverse its decision to introduce a £50 levy.
Mr Thomas will move that the matter is referred to the Standing Orders Committee.
He says people in the Isle of Man are lucky they can have influence:
What consideration's being given to getting rid of tax discs?
Can people on benefits still get support if they're treated privately?
