The Department of Social Care is notifying benefit claimants that there is currently a one day delay in issuing cheques.
It’s as a result of a major power outage in one of government’s IT systems which slowed down the usual process.
Customers who were due to receive their money today may now collect their cheque from the Department’s general counter on the ground floor of Markwell House, provided they have photo identification with them.
Any cheques not collected by 3pm will be posted and customers should receive them on Thursday 20th March.
The Department wishes to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions please contact 685094.
