In just one month the documentary that has truly put the TT races on the map, Closer to the Edge, has sold more than 180,000 copies.
The original print run was going to be for only 49,000 copies, however CinemaNX managed to have this increased following the overwhelming business it did at the box office.
It spells good news for the TT tourism too, with early bookings already well up on last year’s numbers.
We spoke to Steve Christian from CinemaNX, he told us how many they predict to have sold by the end of the year (see audio).
Despite this resounding success, the film failed to be recognised by BAFTA, having not even made the shortlist for the Best Documentary category.
