It’s a significant year with the event celebrating 100 years of the Mountain circuit.
More riders have been confirming their attendance for this year’s event, 3FM reported yesterday that local star Conor Cummins is determined to be back in the saddle following on from last years crash.
There has been a recorded increase in interest for this year with early bookings far surpassing the same figure of that in January 2010.
One of the stand out attractions will be the Milestones of the Mountain event, which will feature iconic riders from past and present.
There will be the usual entertainment across the promenade; the headline music acts are yet to be confirmed however.
MHK Geoff Corkish said that although it's a tough time financially on the Island, the surge in sponsorship will ensure that the preparation won’t be hampered by any major budget constraints.
