A man’s been jailed after being caught shoplifting just days after being put on probation.
Damian Borratynski, of no fixed abode, appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse, when he pleaded guilty to one count of theft.
Prosecutor James Robinson told the court the 32 year old took clothing worth £36 from TK Maxx on August 10 - on August 8 he’d been made the subject of a combination order which meant he had to do community service and be supervised by probation staff.
He later explained his actions by saying he’d had nothing to do that day and went shoplifting to relieve his boredom.
Mrs Hughes told him he’d have no more last chances, and jailed him for eight weeks - and after he’s released he’ll still have to complete his community service and probation order.
