Isle of Man Orienteering Klubb - ‘Come & Try’ Orienteering Activity - Launch of New Permanent Orienteering Courses & Map of Mooragh Park, Ramsey.
Saturday 25th January, 2025.
Family friendly orienteering activity suitable for all ages.
• Try one of the New Permanent Orienteering Courses.
• 3 Courses to choose from (Short / Medium / Long) of different distances & number of permanent markers to find.
• Activity suitable for Families, Individuals & Groups.
• Your choice to Walk, Jog or Run.
• Wear suitable clothing and footwear for weather conditions & time of year.
• Children must be under the supervision of an adult.
• Bring a pen or pencil to record orienteering marker codes on the answer sheet.
Registration time: 9:45am - 10:45am.
Individual START times from 9:50am - 11:00am.
Participants must return to the finish by 12:30pm at the latest.
Orienteering Maps supplied - Cost: Adult: £4.00. Youth under 18yrs: £1.50. Family (2 Adults & Children under 18yrs): £8.00(max) Cash only payment.
Various Permanent Marker Courses: Short / Medium / Long
Registration, Start & Finish Area: Grass area beside the children’s play area & car park at the Northern end of Mooragh Park Lake. (signposted from car park).
Event Activity –
Navigate to each permanent orienteering marker shown on your map, in the order written on the description sheet, whilst choosing the best route to get to each permanent marker post. Then record the unique code found on the marker on your scorecard or answer sheet. Check your answers on return to the finish.
