All elective cancer surgery on Island has been cancelled with immediate effect.
The decision has been made to maximise the capacity of the Intensive Care Unit at Noble’s Hospital.
It comes as Health Minister, David Ashford MHK, confirmed one patient who has tested positive for Coronavirus is now receiving treatment in the ICU department.
Meanwhile, Mr Ashford adds the decision to end elective cancer operations has been ‘exceptionally difficult’ - care plans are to be discussed and theatres are being re-purposed.
