The head of the union for Island farmers is calling for public rights of way through farms to be shut to protect local food supply.
Tim Johnston, President of the Manx National Farmers Union (MNFU), has written to the Department of Infrastructure and Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture asking for pathways through farm yards and businesses to close temporarily during the Coronavirus outbreak.
The MNFU says it hopes the public can help support this idea so any of its members currently in voluntary isolation can stay safe.
The organisation adds, where possible, members can offer alternative routes and that they're being advised to keep gates closed and put in place sanitising points.
