College 5k challenge raises funds for hospital charity

Pupils and staff at an Island school raising funds for a local charity have raised well over their previous target.

An initiative at King William's College has been encouraging teachers and students to run 5k in a bid to raise £1,000 for the Friends of Noble's charity.

However, that target has been smashed with over £2,300 generated for the organisation - 288 people from eight countries took part collectively running 1,730 kilometres.

Director of Sport at the college, Bernie Dunn, says not only was it good fun but 'a fine example of the College community coming together from all over the world as one in support of a good cause'.
