Residents are being asked to be vigilant after reports of a recent healthcare scam.
According to Malew Parish Commissioners, a resident in the Clagh Vane Estate in Ballasalla was visited last week by someone claiming to be a health official offering to sanitize their house.
However, the quick-thinking local said they would contact the housing department to verify the situation at which point the person abruptly left.
The authority says the matter has been reported to Police and, as a result, is urging people to not let others into their home without prior knowledge or seeing some form of ID.
