The current all-Island speed limit of 40mph is being observed well by motorists, according to Police.
The restriction was brought in last week to reduce the risk of collisions on Manx highways which could put further strain on the health service which is currently working flat out to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.
However, officers have received reports of some overtaking above the new speed limit - authorities say there should be no need to pass lines of traffic as you'd have to be going at a speed which is higher than the rules allow.
The constabulary adds it doens't want to take action against drivers unless absolutely necessary.
