Legislation to stop people panic buying?

New laws could be put in place to stop people panic buying.

The statement was made by the Island's Chief Minister in this week's third press briefing.

It comes as supermarkets across the Island have pleaded with the public not to panic buy.

Tesco, Shoprite, Robinson's and M&S have all signed up to a letter urging customers to be considerate when shopping and only buy what you really need.

Howard Quayle has described people dong so as 'incredibly disappointing' and 'selfish' - he says if the behaviour continues legislation will be put in place stop this.

Lastly, he added stocking up is incredibly unnecessary and not only damages the Island, but your vulnerable neighbour.
