‘No-one will be evicted during this crisis’

No-one renting privately will be evicted if they’re suffering financial hardship during the Coronavirus crisis.

Treasury Minister, Alf Cannan MHK, reaffirmed the statement during a press briefing held by government this afternoon.

It comes as Mr Cannan announced plans for a number of new financial support measures to help those on Island as the COVID-19 situation develops.

They include banks offering mortgage repayment holidays for homeowners, proposals to support more small and medium sized businesses and a new initiative to assist the tourism accommodation and fishing sectors.
