No plans to close Island schools, says Minister

There are currently no plans to close schools on the Isle of Man.

That's according to the Island's Education, Sport and Culture Minister - Dr Alex Allinson.

Following the news Ireland is shutting all schools and colleges from tomorrow - 3FM contacted the Minister for comment on if the Island would follow suit.

He said: "There are no plans on the Isle of Man to bring in school closures at the moment. The Government and DESC are monitoring the daily situation and we are following the best medical advice from Public Health England at all times."

Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford is holding a press briefing on the matter tomorrow morning.
