Only make absolutely necessary journeys, urge Police

Police will be patrolling the Island's highways asking motorists if their journeys are absolutely essential.

The government has urged people not to go on non-essential travel as part of social distancing measures to protect against Coronavirus.

The Roads Policing Unit says they will be stopping vehicles and speaking to drivers.

Meanwhile, those found to be breaching social distancing rules face an on-the-spot fine of £30.
