More than 1,100 people have applied for a new welfare benefit supporting those who've lost jobs because of the Coronavirus outbreak.
That's according to figures from Treasury Minister, Alf Cannan MHK, after the new Manx Earnings Replacement Allowance (MERA) scheme was launched on Monday.
The scheme provides an income of £200-a-week for those who've been laid off since March 2 this year or who're self-employed and is available for 12 weeks.
Meanwhile, Mr Cannan also revealed that, as of yesterday afternoon, 457 more people had now signed up to jobseekers allowance on Island amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
