Parents will be allowed to withdraw their children from school without receiving any punishment.
Education Minister, Dr Alex Allinson MHK, made the statement during a briefing from Government yesterday afternoon over Coronavirus.
It comes after it was also confirmed schools on Island will stay open for the time being - that situation, officials say, remains constantly under review.
Dr Allinson also says plans are underway to offer more education online and if schools were to shut it's intended they would remain open for children of 'key workers' in the Islands health and emergency services.
