Parishes aiming to start community initiatives

Arbory & Rushen Commissioners want the help of residents to help maintain important services during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Both parishes are starting initiatives called 'Arbory Connect' and 'Rushen Connect' to keep people in contact with each other and help keep the parishes functioning whilst sticking to health advice.

It includes asking any residents under 55 with no underlying medical conditions if they can assist with people's shopping, if anyone is available to offer teaching via live video feeds or be able to simply call someone everyday to check in on how they're doing.

Those willing to volunteer or who need any assistance are asked to contact Phil Gawne on 834 501 or at clerk@rushen.gov.im, or alternatively Colin Kniveton on 836 454 or deputyclerk@arbory.gov.im .
