'Patient transfers only for life-saving treatment'

Only those needing life-saving treatment are flying to Liverpool on the patient transfer service.

Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, has clarified outpatients are directly transferred to hospitals in the UK and then back without any outside contact.

He adds those patients are then allowed to self-isolate at home on their return as they have a different 'risk profile' to those currently in quarantine at the Comis Hotel in Santon.

The hotel is housing residents who've been repatriated back to the Isle of Man after being stranded abroad because of travel restrictions around the Coronavirus pandemic.
