Investigations into Abbotswood Nursing home have been suspended by the Department of Health and Social Care.
It's been confirmed in a statement from the government - the Registration & Inspection (R & I) and Safeguarding Investigations into the running of the home have been temporarily halted.
Externally appointed investigators , commissioned by the department itself , have now recommended referral to the Island's Constabulary.
It's to consider whether potential offences have been committed - once Police have considered the position, contact will be made with those directly involved.
It comes following 20 people from the home dying after contracting Covid-19 - the Island's death toll currently stands at 24.
It also led to the government commissioning an investigation into events at the home in Ballasalla, which has since closed.
