A new prescription and collection delivery service being trialled on Island is a 'positive development' making getting medication easier for residents.
That's according to Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, after government announced the new initiative will be tested for 12 weeks and will allow people to collect and deliver their prescriptions at the Post Office for free.
Mr Ashford adds he believes it will prove especially useful for those considered vulnerable given the current situation around Coronavirus.
Prescription medication can be ordered in the normal way and then be collected by the Post Office for delivery direct to a home address.
Three branches of Lloyds Pharmacy are taking part in the 12 week trial: Anagh Coar, Shoprite Victoria Road, and Village Walk Onchan.
Customers will be asked if they wish to take up the offer of the delivery service.
The vast majority of medicines are eligible for the collection and delivery service, with just a handful of exceptions: a small number of controlled drugs, cold chain medication and some dietary supplements
