Officials are reminding residents that recreational fishing is not a permitted activity on Island at this time.
The Department of Evnironment, Food & Agrilculture has taken to social media to clarify it's not recognised as a form of daily exercise under the current restrictions around Coronavirus.
DEFA adds all types of freshwater fishing licences have now been suspended and taken off sale whilst the measures around non-essential travel and social distancing remain in place.
Officials also say the situation remains under review and any updates will be given in due course.
