A leading banking group is asking people to remain wary of COVID-19 related scams that are currently circulating.
HSBC Channel Islands & Isle of Man says two scams are very common right now - one being 'purchase scams' which may involve fake testing kits and PPE.
Meanwhile, the other is known as 'refund scams' where con artists may offer the possibility of getting money back on cancelled flights, holidays or goods.
As a result, the bank is asking people to only deal with goods and services providers using a trusted, published telephone number and only purchase items for trusted websites.
