Remaining residents of Abbotswood Care Home have been moved out of the facility.
The decision to do so was announced by the Department of Health and Social Care this afternoon.
Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, says whilst the DHSC had hoped to maintain continuity there ‘it has become clear that we are not in a position to do so on the current site’.
Mr Ashford adds the residents will be cared for at Noble’s Hospital whilst their individuals needs are reassessed and individual plans are drawn up with their families.
They will then be found places at other care homes on Island on a temporary basis.
The move to the hospital will be carried out during the early part of next week.
