From this Wednesday, returning residents who meet certain criteria can self-isolate from home.
The Chief Minister made the announcement in today's coronavirus press conference.
From this week's repatriation sailing, people will be allowed to self-isolate at home for two-weeks, as opposed to a mandatory stay at the Comis hotel in Santon.
People currently at the hotel will also be able to leave and carry out the rest of their quarantine at home - as long as they meet the right criteria.
Mr Quayle also confirmed those staying at the Comis will only have to pay for their length of stay and sailing will remain weekly and only from Heysham.
Full details will be published on the government website.
