'Taxi drivers don't need to self isolate'

Taxi drivers don't have to self-isolate when picking up passengers from the airport and Sea Terminal.

It comes following cabbies looking for information after it was confirmed those arriving on Island need to self-isolate for 14 days.

In a press briefing yesterday, Chief Minister Howard Quayle said for taxi drivers picking people up who aren't showing symptoms - to not shake hands, to not touch and after dropping them off to clean their car.

However, they said if they have a passenger showing symptoms of coronavirus they shouldn't take them in the first place.

The Chief Minister also confirmed there are isolation rooms at the airport and sea terminal for anyone showing symptoms of Covid-19.
