Teaching staff at the Island's schools and University College Isle of Man are returning today to prepare for welcoming students back.
It marks the start of a phased return for schools across the Island which is getting underway this week.
Meanwhile, from tomorrow (April 13) children classed as vulnerable or whose parents are key workers will be able to go back to primary schools, whilst secondary schools will be open for selected Year 11 and 13 groups.
Parents who believe they qualify are asked to contact their child’s school today to secure a place, but should only do this if they meet the criteria and have no alternative childcare provision available to them.
Education, Sport & Culture Minister, Dr Alex Allinson MHK, says: "We are working closely with headteachers to ensure the schools and UCM are as safe as possible when they reopen next week, this includes social distancing being in place on 13 April for all children and young people.
"The phased and gradual approach will mean we can pause or make changes quickly if needed."
Elsewhere, government is currently aiming to allow all children to head back to classrooms from April 19, this is subject to the latest advice from Public Health.
