Accommodation registration fees rolled over for 2021-22

Visitor accommodation registration fees are being rolled over for the 2021-22 season.

Government says the decision has been made to help support the sector following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Local providers such as hotels, bed and breakfasts, farm stays, campsites and glamping sites are all required to register their business under the 1975 Tourism Act.

The update means those wanting to keep operating in 2021 will still have to fill out the registration form as usual before January 31, 2021, however there will be no fee to pay for the 2021-22 season.

Political Member with responsibility for Visit Isle of Man and Motorsport, Rob Callister MHK, says: "Covid-19 has triggered an unprecedented crisis throughout the global travel and tourism industry and the impact of the pandemic continues to be felt within the Isle of Man’s tourism industry.

"Now more than ever we need to support this industry that is integral to the Island’s recovery and underpins the quality of life both visitors and residents can enjoy in the Isle of Man.

"Accommodation providers must ensure however that they complete the annual registration if they wish to operate over the period as it is an important way of ensuring essential quality and safety standards are upheld and gives visitors confidence in the quality of accommodation offered here."

Existing registrations expire on February 11 next year - those wanting to renew can do so via the link here.

Meanwhile, any business registering for the first time will have to pay the standard registration fee, more details on the process is available here.
