An Island-based company has been granted a licence to explore Manx waters for oil and gas.
It's been awarded to Crogga - a company set up by residents with experience in that sector.
It will allow the organisation to look at an area of 266-square kilometres off the east coast of the Island.
Initial seismic surveys are subject to approval from the Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture - any future stages such as exploratory drilling will require further consent and approvals.
