Developers need to 'plan for future' says new planning boss

Jennifer Chance has been appointed to the role within the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture. 

 

The chartered town planner has been the acting director for the last eight months. 

 

She'll head up a 28-strong team and will advise Tynwald's Environment and Infrastructure Review Committee as well as other political groups. 

 

Government is currently conducting a review of planning to try and create a system which can respond quickly whilst being fair, transparent and free from abuse. 

 

Miss Chance says her team is keen to engage with applicants to make positive decisions in a 'quick and consistent manner'.
