Around one in four Island premises will have ultra fast fibre broadband passing them by the end of the year.
That's according to Enterprise Minister, Laurence Skelly MHK, when quizzed about the governments National Broadband Plan in Tynwald yesterday.
The plan aims to bring ultrafast connections to all residents and businesses in the long term - Mr Skelly added he hopes to be able to provide a time in the 'very near future' for when it can be delivered.
His comments came in response to a query from Ayre & Michael MHK, Tim Baker, who'd asked what progress has been made on the strategy.
