Ravenscroft on board with Manx Breast Cancer Support’s Champagne Train

A popular fundraiser for Manx Breast Cancer Support has been given a bubbly twist and is already sold out.

The charity has organised a number of gin train events and tickets for its first Champagne Train on 5th June, which sponsored by investment services company Ravenscroft, quickly sold out.

Will Corrin, Director of Ravenscroft Isle of Man, said the champagne train was one of a number of events and sponsorship the company had committed to in 2021.

He said: 'Manx Breast Cancer Support has achieved so much for breast cancer patients and their families in the Isle of Man. Everyone involved with the charity is driven to provide the best possible service and we are delighted to be able to help by funding the Champagne Train. It’s a pleasure for Ravenscroft to be able to support such a fun-filled event after the Island’s lockdowns, when it has been so difficult for charities to fundraise.'

After enjoying a glass of pink champagne on the platform at Douglas Railway Station, guests will board the steam train for a return trip to Castletown. A three-course dinner and wine will be served en route.

Ravenscroft’s sponsorship means that all proceeds will go to Manx Breast Cancer Support for their work on enhancing the treatment and care of people with breast cancer on the Isle of Man.

Julie Stokes of Manx Breast Cancer Support Group said, “We are thrilled to have Ravenscroft supporting us on this event. We continue to work to ensure our Breast Unit is of the highest standard so sponsors are very important to us as their support allows us to use the proceeds of these events to help improve the pathway for breast cancer patients. Every penny we raise stays on the Island.”
