A quayside restaurant in Douglas wants to borrow some space from its neighbour to extend its outside seating area.
Heron and Brearley has applied for permission to remove railings during the summer outside the Douglas Hotel in North Quay.
It's to allow the Barbary Coast restaurant to put more tables and chairs outside.
In its application, the brewery says the removal would only be temporary and the railings would slot back into holes for the winter.
