Almost £250,000 has been spent on repairing a locomotive that has only been used on 31 days in the last five years.
That's according to the Department of Infrastructure in response to a freedom of information request.
The diesel locomotive was bought for £420,000 for use in association with the steam trains, and has had a further £249,000 spent on repairs.
Despite this, the locomotive is still not in working condition and is thought to need a further £40,000 worth of work done before it can return to service.
It was last used on June 17 2021.
