A six-month trial of the Isle of Man's emergency air bridge is now underway.
The Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) will take patients who are seriously ill or have suffered a major trauma from the Island directly to the UK for treatment as quickly as possible.
The service is in partnership with the Great North Air Ambulance Service, and will run alongside the existing air ambulance already provided by Manx Care.
