The airport and harbours have been combined into a single division.
It’s seen as an short-term measure while work continues on the Scope of Government Report.
The two bodies will now be known as the Ports Division with airport director Ann Reynolds overseeing the unit.
Minister David Cretney says this approach will bring about improved efficiency.
The changes take effect from today.
