Arrival of Ashley could delay ferries

The Steam Packet Company says eight trips this weekend could be cancelled because of bad weather.

Every sailing on Sunday is currently at risk of disruption, and a 7.45pm trip from Douglas to Heysham on Saturday is facing cancellation.

The company says services to Liverpool are currently expected to be less impacted by the strong winds.

Storm Ashley is due to pass through the British Isles from the early hours of Sunday morning with winds reaching up to 60mph.
