Ill health has caused the Bee Gees star Robin Gibb to miss out on the premiere of his new piece of work which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Titanic disaster.

The singer has recently been diagnosed with pneumonia and was too ill to attend the London premiere of the Titanic Requiem which took place at the Westminster Central Hall.

The Titanic Requiem is a classical collection of 15 pieces which tell the story of the ship’s tragic journey, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Bee Gee star had also been due to perform one of the pieces – a song called Don’t Cry Alone - at the event.

Robin’s son RJ, who collaborated on the classical piece with his father, told the audience that his father was still in hospital but that he sent all his love to his fans, friends and family.
