A bomb has been found on Ramsey beach.
Coastguard officers say they successfully detonated an ordnance found on the beach last night at around 8.15pm.
A member of the public reported the object on Tuesday afternoon, after it was discovered in a rock pool on the Queen’s Pier on Ballure shore.
The crew guarded the site until the Royal Navy Bomb Disposal Unite arrived from Scotland and then moved the 12-inch live projectile to a sandy area and exploded it under controlled conditions.
Coastguards are reminding the public if you come across anything unusual or suspicious on the coast to report it straight away.
