Treasury Minister Alex Allinson says the government spent a bond worth hundreds of millions of pounds on the Steam Packet and Manx Utilities.
This week in the House of Keys, Dr Allinson faced questions from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse about the £400m Sustainable Financing Bond.
Dr Allinson said £176 million of it had been spent on funding Manx Utilities projects.
And he revealed a Steam Packet loan for the Manxman was also refinanced using the cash:
