Bookmakers say Ballabriggs was most backed horse they'd ever seen for National

Trevor Hemmings horse Ballabriggs won the race in Aintree on Saturday.

An Isle of Man resident is celebrating his horse racing to victory in the Grand National.

Trevor Hemmings horse Ballabriggs won the race in Aintree on Saturday.

It was the Andreas residents' second Grand National winner as his horse Hedgehunter won in 2005.

The winning horse was trained by Donald McCain, whose father Ginger trained famous national winner Red Rum.

The Manx connection saw the Island's bookmakers pay out a small fortune with vast numbers of locals turning out to place bets.

We spoke to Michael, the proprietor of Bet to Bet Bookmakers, he said Ballabriggs was definitely the best backed horse they've ever seen for the event.
