Breastfeeding law introduced

A landmark bill has been passed in the Island, which has been hailed as a ‘great result for mothers’.

Tynwald ratified a private member’s bill regarding breastfeeding this week.

It’s now against the law the prevent mothers from feeding their babies in public, with a potential find of £2,500 any persons found discriminating against them.

The legislation was championed by Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson who said he was "delighted” with the outcome.

The law came in to affect on Tuesday.
